CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Circular economy is often associated with the production and recycling of products, in line with the guidelines of the European Circular Economy Action Plan, but it also plays an important role in the field of packaging and logistics. Right there, responsible decisions can significantly reduce the amount of waste while maintaining a high level of safety and quality in deliveries.

In the company Slobrides we understand circular economy as a thoughtful and responsible approach to handling the packaging we use when receiving, storing and shipping goods to our customers. For us, packaging is not a single‑use consumable, but a part of the supply chain that should be managed sustainably and rationally.

Packaging plays a key role in protecting goods during transport and storage. At the same time, it is also an area where responsible handling can reduce the consumption of new materials and the amount of waste.

Our goal is to treat packaging as a resource, which should be reused wherever possible, safe and compliant with legislation, as defined by the European Packaging Regulation (PPWR) – without any compromises regarding the protection of goods or the quality of services.

All packaging that comes to us and is not damaged, is always inspected again before being reused. This ensures that it meets all requirements regarding

• safety
• stability
• and suitability for further use.

If the packaging meets our criteria after inspection, we reuse it for packing and shipping goods to our customers. This approach reduces unnecessary consumption of new packaging and contributes to more efficient use of resources.

We also pay special attention to pallets and other transport packaging. Every pallet and every piece of packaging is carefully inspected before reuse. Only packaging that is in excellent condition, is reused again in the packing and dispatch process.

In the company Slobrides:

• we primarily use refurbished and repaired pallets,
• we purchase pallets from specialized suppliers who ensure legal refurbishment and appropriate quality,
• we do not purchase new pallets, when refurbishment or repair of existing pallets is technically, safely, and legally feasible.

Every pallet and every piece of packaging is carefully inspected before reuse. Only packaging that is in proper technical condition, is reused again in the packing and dispatch process.

With this we ensure:

• the safety of goods during transport,
• the stability of shipments,

while significantly reducing the environmental impact associated with the production of new packaging.

The reuse of packaging in the company Slobrides never means a compromise on safety. Inspection of packaging is a key part of the process, as we want to ensure that every shipment is properly protected and prepared for safe transport.

In this way we combine environmental responsibility with high quality standards, as expected by our customers.

With responsible handling of packaging we contribute to:

• reducing the amount of waste,
• more efficient use of resources,
• more organised and transparent logistics processes.

This approach is aligned with the broader goals EU circular economy policy, responsible and long‑term oriented business operations.

The circular economy in practice often begins with small but consistent steps. At Slobrides, we believe that responsible handling of packaging is an important part of this path.

With careful inspection and reuse of packaging, whenever possible, we contribute to reducing environmental impact while maintaining a high level of safety and quality in deliveries to our customers. This approach is in line with the principles set out in EU Waste Framework Directive.
